As announced by Y.A.B. Prime Minister and Minister of Finance during the tabling of the Budget 2013 on September 28, 2012 in the Parliament, the Government has proposed an allocation of RM325 million to implement the grant be given a book voucher of RM250 per student. This initiative is expected to benefit 1.3 million students across the country to help ease the burden of education expenses of the purchase of books and cultivating the reading habit among Malaysians.
